August 5th & 19th – 9.15 am for 9.30 start

Wed. 5th August with Camelle Denny: “The Crashing Wave”  Oils.

Requirements:

12 x 16” box canvas, painted with black gesso, and dry ready to use

Brushes: I use semi soft brushes:

2 x 1/2” or 3/4″ straight edge (bright)                  1 x number 8 Fan

2 x no.12 Filbert  (rounded edge, firmer)            1 x no. 2 detail brush

Oils: This is a monotone painting, so bring a dark blueish colour e.g. Prussian Blue plusTitanium White

Liquin for the medium

NO TURPS PLEASE,  use cloth to wipe out the brushes in class and clean them at home.

Wed.19 August with Julie McDonald:  Introduction to Inks – Landscape Illusions

 

Requirements:

Watercolour paper, Hot Press 300g stretched on board x 2 (1/4 sheets)

Various size brushes including 1” and a liner,

Other items:  Pencil, Rubber, Water spray bottle, Scissors, Non-iodised Salt, Pipettes (packet);

Hairdryer, Greaseproof (waxed) paper, Cling Wrap, Rags, Paper Towels, etc. Small containers for mixing

 

Inks: pigment based e.g. Art Spectrum light fast, Liquitex Acrylic ink. Avoid dye colourable inks as they fade.

Bring any colours you have

or $10 payable to the tutor for the use of Inks/mediums and extra materials
