10th September 2018 – 13th September 2018

In 2017 the Gosford 50+ Leisure & Learning Centre celebrated
35 years of running the Grandma Moses Art Competition
& Exhibition. To commemorate the milestone a 35th
Anniversary video was produced and launched at the 2018
Seniors Festival Grandma Moses Selected Artist Exhibition
held on 6 April 2018 at the Erina Centre, Erina. The video
captures the essence and history of the event through stories
from all those who have been involved, both past and
present.

The annual competition is named after American Artist Anna
Mary Moses, affectionately known as “Grandma Moses’ who
took up painting as a career at the age of 78. She held her
first ‘one woman show’ at the age of 80, and painted more
than 1,500 pictures in the last 23 years of her life; creating
artworks until her death at age 101.

Entrants are asked to submit their artwork into one of five
prize sections – Open, Watercolour, Novice, 50+ Centre/
Senior Centre Art Group Member and Central Coast Inspired.

Entries open in July with the Competition and Exhibition held in the second week of September.
