What an Opening! With a Bugle call to attention, a Proclamation and the Ringing of his Bell, Stephen Clarke, Central Coast Town Crier, thrilled us all in officially opening our Exhibition. This was preceded by our President, Judith Hoste welcoming guests and thanking all those who participated in the organisation, set-up, and catering for the exhibition. Whilst everyone is valued for their contribution, we particularly appreciate and thank Ken Hoste and George Palagyi for their patience and support in the hanging of the exhibition. – Check out our facebook page for the video on this
In all we had 92 paintings, pottery, jewellery and the ever popular cards. Our members are to be commended on the high quality and variety of work presented. This, in addition to the new set-up, drew much comment from the large crowd on how the Gallery presented a bright, colourful and inviting atmosphere. Congratulations to Lee Meatchem, Wayne Dowsent, Sita Cooray, Rudy Van de Water and Patricia Loker who each sold a painting; also Jenny Brasch who was very successful in selling her pottery, along those who sold jewellery and cards.
Over the period we had a total of 588 visitors, with Gabriel Felkai from Swansea winning the Raffle prize, a painting generously donated by Frances Melrose – Thank you Fran. The Peoples Choice Award, kindly sponsored by Christie’s Framing, Tuggerah, was won by Belinda Lindhardt, 2nd prize went to Camelle Denny, with both 3rd & 4th prize to Noeline Miller. Well done, ladies!
Our Summer Exhibition will no doubt roll around quickly, and we will confirm dates once released by the Gallery. – Fran Mackey, Exhibition Co-ordinator
